Zulu Panel

The decorated front panel of a rack umfanekiso used for storing basketry mats. Two panels by the same hand have been published, one in “Art And Ambiguity” and the other in “both valuable and curios”  The panel offered here is larger and more complex than both of them. This panel is probably from the first half of Qwabe’s career, dating to the inter-war period.
