Dayak
169. This is a bit of a mystery item? it is plainly Dayak and has been created in the same way that paddles were made for important individuals. Finely carved and inlaid with metal. I have an image of one other (included) that has a metal attachment. I don’t think that this would have been a practical tool for heavy work and so maybe had a ceremonial purpose? Some inlay missing. 19th century.
1m 4cm. long.
Borneo.
