Shield

194. A large and very old shield, probably made using stone tools. There are two examples relatable in the collections of the British Museum that were collected in the 19th century. They are both recorded as being from the Hamersley Range area of the Western Desert. There is a section to one side of this shield that has been broken and rejoined in the distant past.
